The Student Union Electoral Commission (SUEC) of the University of Ibadan has officially released the results of the 2025/2026 Student Union Government (SUG) Executive Council elections, marking the end of weeks of anticipation among students.
The election, conducted via an online voting platform, featured 12 candidates contesting for key leadership positions within the SUG. According to SUEC, the process was free, fair, transparent, and highly competitive, with seven candidates ultimately elected as officers.
Emerging at the top of the leadership ladder is Adeboye Temidayo Sewanu, who was elected President after polling 2,943 votes. He will be joined by Salawu Glory, who secured the Vice President position with 2,893 votes, following a closely contested race.

• Adegboye Habeebullah Temitope – 2,102 votes
Treasurer
• Odey John Onah – 2,527 votes (Elected)
• Sobowale Victoria Temiloluwa – 2,493 votes
Sports Secretary
• Siyanbade Adedamola Olalekan – 4,567 votes (Elected)
House Secretary
• Tifase Oluwatimilehin – 4,834 votes (Elected)
Public Relations Officer
• Awofadeju Olasunkanmi Alabi – 4,788 votes (Elected)
Reacting to the outcome, the Students’ Union Electoral Commission urged the newly elected executives to uphold integrity, accountability, and dedication in representing the interests of the University of Ibadan student community.
The official announcement was made by Ojuolape Festus Mayowa, Head of the Publicity Sub-Committee of SUEC.
